Looking for Roman gold, hidden wealth, lost treasures, a kings ransom, pirate booty, buckets of doubloons, pieces of eight, is a common view of metal detecting.
The reality rarely matches this, but the tantalising possibility exists. If you don’t look you’ll never find it.
History
The nations history is in the ground around us, here at the Weston Historical Research and Detecting Association, we dedicate our free time to find that history, bringing our past alive in copper, bronze, silver and gold.
As much as we would like to find fabulous wealth we’ll content ourselves with recording the past for future generations.
